KALAMAZOO, MI — Want to challenge Kalamazoo Public Safety officers to a tug-of-war match?

Children will have the opportunity to do just that on Thursday during the Eastside Neighborhood “Arctic Blast” block party, hosted by Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety, the Eastside Neighborhood Association, Aviators and Vanguard Ministries.

The event will take place from 3 to 6 p.m. at Rockwell Park on Trimble Avenue. The block party will feature outdoor games, live music, children’s activities, hot chocolate and baked goods.

KDPS will have a fire truck and police car on display. Activities will include sack races, a scavenger hunt, tug-of-war and an egg toss.

In October, KDPS officers hosted a Halloween block party in the Edison Neighborhood.
